Y
Delyn Aur
Although obviously of much greater antiquity, the hymn-tune
Y DELYN AUR (The Golden Harp) was first published only in 1879.
The tune is inextricably linked with the words of William Williams,
Pantycelyn's hymn bearing the same title. In this arrangement
Y Delyn Aur is interwoven with the ancient plainsong melody Te
lucis ante terminum, the office hymn for Compline.
This
choral arrangement was made at the request of harpist Brynmor
Williams and is dedicated to the Auckland Welsh Choir and its
conductor Diana Rhodes. The harpist uses the score Adlais
022,
the choir use Adlais 153.
