Gwenni
aeth i ffair Pwllheli (Sweet but dreamy Gwennie) (1973),
tells a story in music. Country girl Gwennie takes her pony
and cart to go to the fair at Pwllheli, where she buys a (very
expensive) china bowl, which, next day, she takes milking.
One swish of the cow’s tail and her expensive bowl is
shattered into smithereens on the cowshed floor! Then, going
to her favourite place in the river to wash her clothes, she
forgets the soap. She goes home to fetch it, only, on her return,
to see her clothes floating gently away downstream. |
